Ad-Hoc Educator position.

iSPACE is looking for highly passionate and dedicated people to join their staff of educators. iSPACE provides STEM  (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programming for academic enrichment through engaging interactive instruction (e.g. rocketry, LEGO Engineering, LEGO robotics).  Experience with teaching in an informal educational or formal classroom setting preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided. Full time Customer and Volunteer Liaison

Summary: The iSPACE Scheduler communicates with potential clients to provide timely and knowledgeable responses, assisting them in choosing and scheduling an iSPACE program that fits their needs. The iSPACE Scheduler gathers and enters program and client information, making it accessible to iSPACE departments for such things as staffing, quoting, billing, reporting, marketing, etc. In addition, this role will manage the Volunteer program

Duties:

Schedulinrespond to clients and program inquiries in a timely and courteous manner

  • assist potential clients, helping them explore the options of programs available in the context of their curriculum needs and goals, group characteristics, calendar availability, cost/funding limitations, facility obtainability, any other factors that may present
  • track the inquiry process and response action
  • book the program on the iSPACE schedule
  • enter all needed client and program information in the iSPACE database
  • communicate with iSPACE staff about the booking for quoting/billing, staffing, and any other actionable or reporting needs
  • do additional tasks as needed to schedule or follow-up program booking

Volunteer coordinator:

  • work with iSPACE staff to identify work that can be done by volunteers
  • identify volunteer resource pool and maintain database of availability/skills
  • communicate upcoming opportunities to volunteer pool
  • create plan for completing the work (schedule volunteers, work with staff to ensure instructions/supplies are available at correct time, etc.)
  • Skills:
    • strong social skills
    • strong verbal and written communication skills
    • attention to detail
    • proficiency using Excel and Word
    • experience using Salesforce and Office 365 a plus
    • willingness to learn and flexibility to grow
    • a strong appreciation for engaged STEM learning

Volunteer Receptionist Job Description:

Shifts available Monday – Friday, 12:00 – 4:00 PM

Description of Duties:
– Greet public
– Answer and forward calls
– Answer questions about iSPACE
– Direct questions to appropriate staff person or program

Requirements:
– Friendly, positive, professional demeanor
– Excellent verbal communication skills
– Ability to operate multi-line phone
– Ability to learn information about iSPACE

– Ability to work cooperatively with staff and volunteers
